GRVT Burns 1.1 Million Tokens as Countdown to Grvt 2.0 Begins

[PRESS RELEASE – Singapore, Singapore, October 20th, 2026] The discretionary buyback represents close to 1% of circulating supply and precedes four planned product milestones culminating in Grvt 2.0. >Grvt, a self-custodial trading platform built on its own zero-knowledge (ZK) chain, announced that the Foundation’s token issuer has completed its first GRVT token buyback, purchasing and burning 1.1 million GRVT tokens on the open market. The transaction permanently removed close to 1% of GRVT’s circulating supply at the time of purchase. It marks the first of five milestones ahead of the planned launch of Grvt 2.0 at the end of November 2026. A Discretionary Buyback with On-Chain Verification The Foundation’s token issuer intends to conduct further buybacks on a monthly basis. Each transaction remains entirely at the issuer’s discretion, with no predetermined purchase amount or guaranteed schedule. Buybacks are executed through an independent execution partner, with purchased tokens transferred to a designated burn address and permanently removed from circulation. The transactions can be independently verified through the >public buyback dashboard, which records the number of tokens purchased and burned, the percentage of circulating supply represented, cumulative burns and on-chain transaction hashes. “The GRVT token is an important part of the ecosystem we are building,” said Hong, co-founder and CEO of Grvt. “We welcome the issuer’s buybacks as a demonstration of its long-term commitment to the ecosystem and community. Grvt is expanding its products and markets, and the issuer’s buybacks sit alongside that as a supportive mechanism aimed at reducing circulating token supply.” Grvt Outlines Four Product Milestones The announcement follows GRVT’s token generation event in July 2026 and precedes a series of planned launches. Grvt Earn, scheduled for the End of October, will introduce yield opportunities backed by tokenized assets, with target yields of up to 11%. Potential returns are expected to derive from underlying asset cash flows, including interest, premiums and invoice-related income. Asset-supplying partners will be announced at launch. Target yields are not guaranteed. Stable Funding Perps, scheduled for November, will introduce perpetual futures linked to commodities, stocks, foreign exchange and indices. The contracts are planned to carry zero trading fees and use once-daily funding. Grvt aims to list more than 1,000 markets by the end of December 2026. Yield as Margin, also scheduled for November, will allow eligible Grvt Earn balances to support trading positions while continuing to accrue yield, subject to applicable product terms

OpenAI Buys Orchestra Bio to Put AI Agents in Charge of Drug Development Grunt Work

OpenAI has bought Orchestra Bio, a San Francisco startup whose AI agents help drug companies keep sprawling development programs on schedule, the ChatGPT maker >announced Tuesday. “Our goal is to help scientists make discoveries and manage the work needed to turn them into treatments that reach patients sooner,” OpenAI said in the announcement. Orchestra’s team and platform will be folded into >Rosalind, OpenAI’s family of AI models and tools for biologists and chemists. The financial terms were not disclosed. Getting a new medicine from first idea to U.S. approval takes time—up to 15 years according to OpenAI. Every month shaved off that timeline is a month earlier that a new treatment can reach the people waiting for it, and a month earlier that the company can generate cash. The process is also absurdly expensive: bringing one approved drug to market can cost more than >$2.6 billion, and fewer than 10% of candidates that enter human testing ever make it to pharmacy shelves. Beyond the science itself, OpenAI says drug teams have to coordinate work across internal departments and outside partners, often relying on systems that don’t talk to each other. Those partners usually include contract research organizations, the outside labs hired to run studies, and contract manufacturers that produce the experimental drug. Orchestra’s AI agents—software that can watch over tasks and flag problems on its own—work out which activities and deadlines take the hit, gather the relevant information and compare ways to respond, while scientists and program leaders make the final call. Founded in the fall of 2022, Orchestra raised its >seed round from Andreessen Horowitz, Definition Capital, Insight Partners, and 8VC, and about $20 million in total, according to Caplight data. The company should not be confused with Orchestra BioMed, an unrelated Nasdaq-listed medical device maker that trades under the ticker OBIO. In April, OpenAI launched GPT-Rosalind, a model built specifically for biology and dru

Bria trained an 8B image model using licensed data: matching Qwen, open source but not directly usable for commercial purposes.

Bria has released Fibo 2.0, a new image model with 8 billion parameters that integrates text-to-image generation and image editing into a single model for the first time. Users can modify photos through natural language, or use structured JSON to specify character positions, lighting, and text while avoiding disruption to other parts. Fibo 2.0 supports mask-based editing and multi-image references, and offers a full developer version as well as Edit Turbo for accelerated retouching. According to Artificial Analysis's AA-image-editing v2.1 leaderboard, Fibo 2.0 ranks first among open-source models with 1087 ELO, slightly ahead of Qwen-image-2.1's 1083. On the text-to-image leaderboard, Qwen leads with 1042 points over Fibo's 1039, a gap that does not reach statistical significance. Fibo 2.0 is trained on licensed images, with Bria partnering with copyright holders such as Getty Images to obtain materials. The model weights use the CC BY-NC 4.0 non-commercial license, and commercial use requires a separate agreement.

Hong Kong police have received 50 reports of investment fraud, involving losses exceeding HK$30 million.

According to a report by aastocks, Hong Kong police stated on the social platform "CyberDefender" that over the past week they received more than 50 reports of investment fraud, involving losses exceeding HK$30 million. Among them, a retired woman in her sixties met a man claiming to be interested in renting a property through a property transaction platform. The man, posing as an investment expert, recommended cryptocurrency investments, sent links to fake investment websites, and lured her into investing funds with promises of high returns. Following his instructions, the woman visited physical cryptocurrency exchange stores 20 times to purchase USDT and then transferred it to designated wallets, nominally for investing in ETH. She was initially able to withdraw some funds successfully, and subsequently continued to add more investment. When she attempted to withdraw again, the other party demanded USDT worth approximately HK$7 million as tax, at which point she realized she had been scammed, ultimately losing more than HK$4.5 million.
