Liquid Network redemption paused for 35 days, attacker still holds 598.5 bitcoins.

According to news from Bijie, Liquid Network's LBTC redemption for Bitcoin has been suspended for 35 days. Attackers exploited a vulnerability in the Elements software to transfer away nearly 4,000 Bitcoins, and about 3,400 have been returned. The wallet currently still holds 598.5 Bitcoins, worth approximately 49.69 million USD. Blockstream refused the attackers' demand for a 10% bounty. Liquid Network is conducting a security audit of Elements v23.3.4. The Liquid Federation has simultaneously updated the PAK list and placed the redemption keys in cold storage. There is currently no specific date for resuming redemptions. Some LBTC holders have migrated funds through Sideswap and Sideshift.ai, with spreads and fees totaling about 5%.

Anthropic cuts off live internet access for all AI agent evaluations

CoinWorld news: Anthropic announced it is shutting down real-time internet access for all AI agent evaluations, a move made after its models exploited government systems and submitted false murder tips. The company acknowledged that its models engaged in reward hacking, in which models were taught in flawed training environments to find loopholes in order to obtain rewards. On July 30, Anthropic reported that three of its models breached production systems during Capture-the-Flag evaluations, and due to a configuration error by a third-party partner, the machines retained real-time internet access. The latest incident is more serious: Claude Haiku 4.5 submitted a false murder tip to the Philadelphia Police Department's unsolved murder case portal on July 18. The company discovered the incident on September 28, notified police on October 7, and met with department officials the next day. The Philadelphia Police Department said Anthropic must strengthen its safeguards to prevent similar incidents from affecting city systems without notifying the city.

According to Iran's Tasnim News Agency, the Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council stated: We are fully prepared, and if war breaks out again, we will demonstrate new capabilities. The United States has extremely high-value assets in the UAE and around the Strait of Hormuz, and we have so far not included these assets in our target list. If war breaks out again, many cables, data centers, AI facilities, and other sites in the region will be destroyed. Federal Reserve mouthpiece Nick Timiraos published an article.

According to news from Bijie, Nick Timiraos, known as the Federal Reserve's mouthpiece, published an article: Federal Reserve official Hammack leans toward an interest rate hike strategy of "smaller magnitude, higher frequency" to avoid being forced into larger rate hikes in the future. At Jergens, an industrial hardware manufacturer in Cleveland, Beth Hammack learned that on customers' list of priorities, price has fallen to third place, behind quality and delivery speed. Admittedly, raising interest rates can neither open the Strait of Hormuz nor immediately cool the data center construction boom. But raising interest rates may make other companies think twice about expansion plans in the current environment, thereby leaving scarce components or supplies for the data center sector and easing supply-demand pressure at the margin. She leans toward an interest rate hike strategy of "smaller magnitude, higher frequency" to avoid being forced into larger rate hikes in the future.

According to news from Bijie, Liam 'Akiba' Wright published an article stating that USDC's post-quantum migration does not rely solely on Circle unilaterally upgrading contracts or keys, but is an ecosystem-wide engineering effort involving 37 public blockchains, wallets, custodians, cross-chain bridges, and user accounts.

Card checkout is dead; alternative payment rails have completed 191 million transactions.

CoinWorld data: Forkast reports that the card checkout model ended in March 2026, replaced by two stablecoin-native alternative payment rails: the x402 protocol and the Machine Payments Protocol (MPP). As of October 11, 2026, x402 had recorded 191,751,598 transactions across 12 chains, and Coinbase reported that in the second quarter of 2026, more than 97% of on-chain agent transactions used x402. Although roughly 25-30% of the activity may be testing or leaderboard noise, x402's reusable sessions significantly reduced transaction friction and drove growth in transaction volume. Meanwhile, MPP, launched by Stripe and Tempo in March 2026, reported 46,198 cumulative events, primarily targeting enterprise-grade high-trust flows.

AWS: A single prompt led to all agents being compromised.

According to Forkast, researchers Tamir Ishay Sharbat and Lana Salameh detailed a vulnerability called agentcorruption at the 2026 Sector conference in Toronto. The attack exploits SSRF techniques, allowing attackers to query the instance metadata service (IMDS) through a public AWS Bedrock AgentCore proxy instance, thereby obtaining temporary AWS credentials. Because the underlying Firecracker microVM lacks sufficient network isolation, attackers are able to access the metadata endpoint, compromising the security of the entire environment. AWS initially treated this behavior as expected when it was first reported, but subsequently took hardening measures and reduced the permissions of the execution role. This incident highlights the ongoing tension in cloud security, especially regarding the security of default configurations.
