More →Google Wants Gemini to Be Your Next Coworker—Complete With Its Own Email Address
Google Cloud introduced a universal AI agent for the workplace on Thursday, one it says can take a goal, go off and do the work, and return with the finished result. CEO Thomas Kurian presented it at the company's Gemini at Work event, saying that "work now starts in the prompt window." The product, simply called the Gemini Agent, works inside Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Chat and Calendar, and also reaches into Microsoft 365 and Slack. Google says it keeps running in the cloud after you close your laptop, so a single task can stretch across hours or days. The most interesting feature is what Google calls coworker agents. A manager describes a role, such as events coordinator, and Gemini creates an agent with its own Workspace account: an email address, a calendar, Drive storage and a listing in the company directory. This is similar to what other agentic frameworks have explored. For example Grok popularized it with Grok Bot, OpenAI did the same with GPT dots, and Hermes introduced its bots feature offering the same functionality. The new agent connects to Salesforce, ServiceNow, Jira, Snowflake, BigQuery and any server that speaks Model Context Protocol, an open standard that works like a universal plug between AI and software. It also runs on more than Google's own models: Gemini currently orchestrates across Gemini and Claude models from Anthropic, routing each job to the one Google considers the best fit for quality and cost. Letting software act on its own raises obvious safety questions, and Google's answer is to treat each agent like an employee. Every agent gets a cryptographically attested identity, a digital ID verified through cryptography, and every action lands in an audit trail attributed to the agent rather than a person. All agents run inside an Agent Sandbox, a walled-off environment meant to keep software away from the rest of a system, and all their traffic passes through Agent Gateway, which Google describes as an "AI network firewall." Containment has failed before: in July, researchers at Accomplish AI reported that the local mode of Claude Cowork could escape its Linux virtual machine on Macs and reach files on the host computer. Cost is the other worry, since agents burn through tokens, the chunks of text that AI models read and write and that customers are billed for. Google says nearly 500 of its customers each processed more than one trillion tokens over the past year, and it added real-time spend caps: when a project hits its limit, the agent pauses until someone clicks to resume. Google did not publish pricing or a general availability date for the Gemini agent. The financial services and lega
800,000 people applied to Bending Spoons, and the hiring process is extremely challenging.
Bending Spoons faces an extremely high challenge in recruitment. Despite offering no bonuses or fancy job titles, 800,000 people still applied. The company sends each candidate a "controversial" list of work principles, advising them to prepare for "considerable" challenges and workload. Last year, the company received 800,000 resumes but hired only 286 people, making its recruitment process 100 times more selective than the Ivy League. Since its founding in 2013, Bending Spoons has acquired more than 50 companies and ranked 69th on the 2026 Fortune Best Companies in Europe list.

OpenAI's annual revenue may be approaching $50 billion, and the market reaction has been dramatic.
According to Benzinga, OpenAI's annualized revenue may be close to $50 billion, rather than the roughly $70 billion previously circulated among investors. Market observer Jim Cramer noted that the gap may stem from accounting differences, as OpenAI and Anthropic report revenue in different ways, and direct comparisons may mislead investors. Daniel Newman, CEO of Futurum Group, said the confusion stems from investors misunderstanding gross revenue and net revenue. At the heart of the debate is the difference between revenue that OpenAI records directly and revenue calculated through cloud and distribution partners. Shay Boloor pointed out that OpenAI's agreement with Microsoft includes ongoing revenue-sharing obligations, and headline revenue does not equal the revenue OpenAI retains. Nevertheless, the report still shook the market. Bull Theory said that about $500 billion in U.S. market value was wiped out on Thursday, as investors reassessed AI spending expectations and the sustainability of the current buildout.
Federal Reserve survey: Nearly one in five U.S. households have delinquent loans.
According to news from Bijie, the Federal Reserve's latest Survey of Consumer Finances shows that nearly one in five U.S. households has fallen behind on loan payments, with debt repayment pressure rising to its highest level since 2013. The survey shows that the median U.S. household debt-to-income ratio has risen to 15.4%, up 2 percentage points from 2022. The Federal Reserve noted that this may be related to the rise in mortgage and consumer loan interest rates during the same period. At the same time, the share of households with heavier debt repayment burdens rose from 6.5% in 2022 to 8.6% in 2025. The report shows that from 2022 to 2025, the proportion of households with overdue loans rose sharply from about 12% to nearly 20%. These data indicate that as borrowing costs rise, U.S. households not only need to devote more income to debt repayment, but the phenomenon of loan delinquency has also increased significantly, reflecting that the financial condition of some households is deteriorating.
JPMorgan: SpaceX steps up wireless communications business, targeting expansion from phones to autonomous driving and robotics.
JPMorgan: SpaceX is doubling down on its wireless communications business, aiming to expand from mobile phones to autonomous driving and robotics. JPMorgan analysts said in a report that SpaceX plans to acquire a nationwide wireless spectrum portfolio in the United States from Grain Management, further expanding its footprint in the mobile communications sector. The analysts noted that the low-band spectrum it plans to acquire has stronger indoor signal penetration capabilities, enabling broader network coverage, and complements the mid-band spectrum SpaceX is acquiring from EchoStar. The latter can provide higher bandwidth capacity, thereby enhancing the credibility of Starlink Mobile's long-term development prospects. JPMorgan believes this deal further confirms that SpaceX's mobile communications ambitions are not limited to mobile phones, but will extend to areas such as the Internet of Things (IoT), autonomous vehicles, and robotics, ultimately realizing the "Internet of Everything."
