However, White House officials still feel like the suggestions made fall short of what they want. Why Solana Could Be Heading for a Crash to $50

Solana’s native token has been underperforming during the persistent bear market, but some analysts view the current levels as great buying opportunities. Others believe the asset is at a critical turning point, suggesting that a further 30% crash is not out of the question. SOL has been <span>in a major decline lately, with X user WIZZ <a href="https://x.com/CryptoWizardd/status/2082103520388341980" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">noting</a> that it has logged nine consecutive red months and is at risk of closing a tenth </span>– something unseen in its history. Saylor: Bitcoin’s Biggest Threat Isn’t Attackers – It’s Those Trying to Rewrite the Rules

Michael Saylor believes Bitcoin has already succeeded but now faces its greatest challenge. He said the biggest threat is not an outside attacker but factions that seek to rewrite the network’s rules for their own interests. The executive chairman and co-founder of Strategy warned that such changes could weaken economic rights and undermine the cryptocurrency’s long-term future. In a recent post on X, Saylor <a href="https://x.com/saylor/status/2082141019303202998" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">described</a> Bitcoin’s consensus rules as its “constitution,” and said that they define property rights, scarcity, settlement, and the balance of power across the network. As such, changing those rules for the benefit of any particular group would amount to an attack on every BTC participant, both now and in future generations. He said the cryptocurrency has the potential to grow 100-fold and become the foundation of global capital, but argued that even a single “corrupt” rule adopted today could limit future markets, technologies, and economic freedom. According to Saylor, governments and political systems often justify taking away rights by claiming a crisis exists, and said Bitcoin could face a similar outcome if factions gain control of consensus. At the center of his criticism is BIP-110, a proposal Saylor argues would censor valid fee-paying transactions. These validators were tasked with checking asset sources, wallet ownership, and client information before certifying any prospective crypto transactions as compliant. Laws pertaining to the ‘abuse of crypto assets’ were introduced in 2025 under Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s government. Transactions between 5 <span>and 15 million forints (roughly $15,000 – $150,000) were reportedly <a href="https://cryptopotato.com/hungary-plans-to-decriminalize-cryptocurrency-trading-after-orbans-departure-report/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">punishable</a> by a two-year prison sentence</span>, with up to five years for higher amounts. Russia Issues Arrest Warrant for Telegram Founder Pavel Durov: Report

According to several reports, Russia’s Federal Security Service has charged Telegram founder Pavel Durov with facilitating terrorist activity and issued an international warrant for his arrest. The agency alleged that the messenger app failed to remove content used by Ukrainian intelligence services as well as terrorist and extremist organizations to coordinate sabotage, mass killings, cyber fraud, and other attacks against Russia. Telegram is among the most used applications on both sides of the Russia-Ukraine war, with more than a billion users around the world. Ripple’s XRP Could Hit $100T if Institutions Use It as Collateral: Analyst

XRP could one day become a $100 trillion asset, with the driver, according to market commentator xrpl_Adam, being institutional demand for the Ripple token as locked collateral. His argument pushed back against one of the most common claims in the XRP community: that large payment flows alone could justify extremely high valuations. Instead, he says investors should watch whether major financial firms start accepting XRP as collateral, calling that the only development that would create a structural reason for institutions to hold large amounts of the token and potentially push its price to $100 or even $1,000. In a July 29 thread on X, xrpl_Adam started by <a href="https://x.com/xrpl_adam/status/2082200176458871158?s=20" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">dismissing</a> the often-cited comparison that because SWIFT moves roughly $5 trillion a day, XRP needs a similar valuation to matter as a bridge currency. According to him, a bridge asset that settles in three to five seconds gets reused constantly, so turning it over 100 times means $5 trillion in daily flows only needs around $50 billion of float. “Volume doesn’t set the price. Idle inventory does,” the analyst said. Using XRP’s supply figure, he noted that there are about 100 billion of them in existence, with 32.4 billion held in escrow, leaving close to 62 billion tokens able to move, a figure that lines up with the 62.533 billion circulating supply cited on the CoinGecko website. Based on that supply, if XRP were to go to $100, it would imply a market cap of about $10 trillion, while a $1,000 price would value the network at around $100 trillion. The only force xrpl_Adam sees capable of creating the kind of long-term demand that would push XRP’s value to such levels is collateral, where the asset is pledged against trades and stays locked for the duration of those positions instead of circulating through the market. He compared this with gold, arguing that its worth comes from being held, not from being constantly transacted. As evidence that Ripple may be moving in that direction, the market watcher pointed to Ripple’s $1.25 billion acquisition of Hidden Road, now renamed to Ripple Prime, a prime broker that decides what counts as acceptable collateral. KBRA, an SEC-registered rating agency, gave it a BBB issuer rating on April 2 and a BBB senior debt rating on July 8. But he flagged what is missing. Neither Ripple’s published collateral schedule nor KBRA’s reports currently list XRP as eligible collateral. Furthermore, while CEO Brad Garlinghouse spoke in May about making XRP acceptable collateral, it was only as a future goal. In a <a href="https://eprint.iacr.org/2026/1508" target="_blank" rel="noopener" class="sc-adb616fe-0 bJsyml">>paper</a> titled “ZKPoSP: Post-Quantum Zero-Knowledge Proofs for Hierarchical Deterministic Wallets,” AmericanFortress researchers describe replacing traditional elliptic curve signatures with zero-knowledge proofs while maintaining compatibility with hierarchical deterministic wallets. “Recent advances in quantum hardware, including Google's <a href="https://decrypt.co/345472/quantum-threat-bitcoin-grows-google-latest-breakthrough" target="_blank" rel="noopener" class="sc-adb616fe-0 bJsyml">>Willow</a> processor, have substantially narrowed the timeline to cryptographically relevant quantum computers,” they wrote. “In the blockchain setting, where addresses and key derivation standards such as BIP32, BIP44, and SLIP-10 are the dominant infrastructure for wallet management, a quantum computer running Shor's algorithm can recover any elliptic-curve private key from the corresponding public key, threatening every wallet in production today.” The research focuses on "<a href="https://decrypt.co/resources/what-q-day-quantum-threat-bitcoin-explained" target="_blank" rel="noopener" class="sc-adb616fe-0 bJsyml">>Q-Day</a>," the point at which a fault-tolerant <a href="https://decrypt.co/resources/from-the-quantum-realm-to-reality-a-beginner-guide-to-the-computer-of-the-future" target="_blank" rel="noopener" class="sc-adb616fe-0 bJsyml">>quantum computer</a> could use Shor's algorithm to derive private keys from public keys, rendering the elliptic curve cryptography used by Bitcoin and many other blockchains insecure. Rather than requiring users to migrate funds to new quantum-safe addresses, the proposed system replaces digital signatures with zero-knowledge proofs that verify ownership of a wallet's seed phrase. Because the seed itself remains secret, the authors argue legitimate owners could still prove control of their wallets even if individual private keys are compromised. The paper introduces ZKPoSP (Zero-Knowledge Proof of Seed Provenance) and QBIP32, a key derivation scheme designed to support multiple elliptic curves while remaining compatible with existing hierarchical deterministic wallets. According to the study, AmericanFortress researchers implemented the system in Rust using the RISC Zero zero-knowledge virtual machine. Prototype benchmarks showed proof generation times of roughly 12 to 13 seconds and verification times of about 9 to 10 milliseconds. MoonPay's PayBox Puts a Crypto Wallet Inside Claude and ChatGPT—And Lets It Pay for Things

MoonPay <a href="https://www.prnewswire.com/news-releases/moonpay-launches-paybox-a-payment-vault-for-claude-and-chatgpt-that-turns-prompts-into-payments-302837796.html" target="_blank" class="sc-adb616fe-0 bJsyml" rel="nofollow">launched PayBox today</a>—a payment vault that plugs into Claude and ChatGPT and lets AI agents, software programs that complete tasks autonomously on your behalf, to actually spend money for you. The mechanics are fairly straightforward. The vault acts as a secure digital safe that stores both crypto wallets and payment cards. You tell the chatbot what you want. The AI then lines up the transaction. You approve it with a passkey (a secure digital key stored on your phone or device, like Face ID for payments). The money then moves. "The card hid the cash. The phone hid the card. This is the era where money disappears into conversation," MoonPay CEO Ivan Soto-Wright said in a statement. Until now, Claude and ChatGPT could research investments, compare flight prices, and plan purchases—but couldn't complete them. You still had to open a browser, log into a payment service, and do the actual transaction yourself. PayBox aims to close that gap. First integrations live at launch: restaurant reservations, flight bookings, and shopping across major online retailers. Users can also swap tokens, bridge funds between blockchains, and route money into DeFi protocols like <a href="https://aave.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow external noopener" class="sc-adb616fe-0 bJsyml">>Aave</a>. PayBox supports Solana and seven Ethereum-compatible chains (Ethereum itself, Hyperliquid, Tempo, Base, Robinhood Chain, Arbitrum, and Polygon) at launch.
