Morgan Stanley: Nvidia locks up 37.3% of global HBM supply for 2027.

According to a report by Gelonhui, Jiemian News reports that Morgan Stanley's latest estimate shows Nvidia has locked in about 37.3% of the world's high-bandwidth memory (HBM) supply for 2027, with its long-term supply commitments surging from $119 billion in the previous quarter to $279 billion (about RMB 1.87 trillion). Nvidia's supply commitments are not evenly distributed, with about $92 billion maturing in the remainder of fiscal 2027, and $87 billion and $88 billion maturing in fiscal 2028 and 2029, respectively. The cost per GB of HBM4 has jumped from $17 to $18 in the HBM3e era to $31 to $32, nearly doubling. Bernstein predicts that HBM4 pricing may climb further to $53 per GB in 2027, while UBS estimates that the overall average price of HBM in 2027 will rise by about 79% compared with 2026. Micron CEO Sanjay Mehrotra said at the October 1 earnings call that most HBM supply for 2027 has already been contracted in advance, and no inflection point for supply and demand returning to balance is currently in sight. Samsung also said customers have already booked 2027 demand in advance, and the supply-demand gap will further widen compared with 2026.

Vitalik Buterin: AI will become the new user interface, directly executing complex on-chain operations.

According to news from Bijie, Vitalik Buterin stated that AI has the ability to break out of sandboxes, discover software vulnerabilities, and assist the Ethereum protocol in implementing complex cryptography. He once completed an ENS information update within 5 minutes through a local AI agent, and expects that AI directly executing complex on-chain operations will become the norm. Buterin pointed out that the Safe-related hacking incident caused about $1.4 billion in losses, with the attack targeting the interaction layer between users and on-chain systems. AI directly handling transactions can reduce web interface risks, but it will introduce new challenges such as AI security, prompt injection, and the accuracy of operational understanding.

OKX founder Star: We will build a global fintech platform.

According to CoinWorld news, OKX founder and CEO Star delivered a keynote speech at the OKX NOW Global Product and Ecosystem Conference held in Singapore, stating that the exchange is OKX's starting point, not its endpoint. He believes that the internet, crypto technology, and AI are driving financial services toward globalization, real-time operation, and personalization, and that OKX will build a next-generation global fintech platform around four major directions: fund custody, payments, investment, and wealth management. Star said that crypto finance and traditional finance are accelerating their integration, and OKX will continue to invest in global compliance infrastructure and enhance transparency through regular proof-of-reserves. Meanwhile, Deloitte has become OKX's global auditor. Star also mentioned that AI has become OKX's core infrastructure, with approximately 95% of engineering code merge requests having their main development work completed through AI workflows, and that in the future AI will be widely applied in scenarios such as customer service, anti-fraud, user protection, compliance, and wealth management.

World Bank: Asia has insufficient buffer space to cope with oil price shocks.

World Bank: Asia's buffer space to cope with oil price shocks is already insufficient. The World Bank's "East Asia and Pacific Economic Outlook" released on Tuesday pointed out that as the U.S.-Iran war pushes up global energy prices, economies in East Asia and the Pacific have taken more active response measures than other regions and are also more reliant on subsidies. This approach may be "unsustainable," and it is expected that Middle Eastern oil exports will not recover to pre-conflict levels until mid-2027. The report said: "If this shock is persistent rather than temporary, these measures may delay necessary behavioral adjustments, while also increasing fiscal costs and reducing foreign exchange reserves." Citing Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam as examples, the World Bank pointed out that all three countries have taken measures to lower retail gasoline prices, and their U.S. dollar reserves have decreased by 15% to 40% this year. At present, the impact of energy risks is still being offset by what the World Bank calls an "AI tailwind."
