According to SonicWall PSIRT advisory SNWLID-2026-0017, this mechanism is called a "confused deputy," allowing the device to access internal functions and perform unauthorized operations without requiring any credentials. The SMA1000 series has now disclosed three identical vulnerabilities, and the latest advisory covers four different vulnerabilities affecting SMA1000 models 6210, 7210, and 8200v. Users need to upgrade their firmware to fix these vulnerabilities.
