OKXICE applies to trade 60 U.S. stocks 24/7

Coin World News reports that OKXICE has filed an application with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to launch a 24/7 tokenized stock trading platform. The platform is a joint venture between crypto exchange OKX and Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, and is expected to start with more than 60 companies listed on U.S. stock exchanges. Tokenized stocks are digital versions of regular stocks that can be traded outside normal market hours and settle faster than traditional stocks. The plan is based on new rules issued by the SEC on September 17, which allow eligible trading venues to trade tokenized U.S. stocks using automated market makers and liquidity pools. The exemption is temporary, valid for five years, and comes with some restrictions. Tokenized stocks must enjoy the same rights as regular stocks, including dividends and voting rights. Listed companies also have 30 days to object to their shares being tokenized. OKX and ICE formed a 50-50 joint venture in June to build the infrastructure for tokenized financial products.

8.5% Growth vs. 3.4% Interest Rates: The Math of America's Debt Spiral

According to data from Bijie.com: Recent data shows that the U.S. debt spiral appears increasingly urgent, with the 10-year Treasury yield breaking above 5% and interest costs exceeding $1 trillion. However, the 8.5% growth rate still exceeds the average debt interest rate of 3.4% before inflation. The U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis measured this 8.5% as the annualized second-quarter growth rate. Nevertheless, the 3.4% average interest rate partly reflects older bonds, and TD Securities says that as bonds mature, costs will gradually rise. Although yields have hit a 24-year high, the debt is not being refinanced all at once, and TD Securities estimates the weighted average maturity of the debt at about 5.9 years. Excluding short-term bills, the average coupon on the bonds is still 3.1%. TD expects interest costs of about $1.1 trillion in fiscal year 2026, and if yields remain at current levels, it forecasts $1.4 trillion in 2027 and $1.6 trillion in 2029. In addition, the Congressional Budget Office projects that by fiscal year 2026, public debt will reach about 101% of gross domestic product (GDP).
