Google Wants Gemini to Be Your Next Coworker—Complete With Its Own Email Address

Google Cloud introduced a universal AI agent for the workplace on Thursday, one it says can take a goal, go off and do the work, and return with the finished result. CEO Thomas Kurian presented it at the company's Gemini at Work event, saying that "work now starts in the prompt window." The product, simply called the Gemini Agent, works inside Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Chat and Calendar, and also reaches into Microsoft 365 and Slack. Google says it keeps running in the cloud after you close your laptop, so a single task can stretch across hours or days. The most interesting feature is what Google calls coworker agents. A manager describes a role, such as events coordinator, and Gemini creates an agent with its own Workspace account: an email address, a calendar, Drive storage and a listing in the company directory. This is similar to what other agentic frameworks have explored. For example Grok popularized it with Grok Bot, OpenAI did the same with GPT dots, and Hermes introduced its bots feature offering the same functionality. The new agent connects to Salesforce, ServiceNow, Jira, Snowflake, BigQuery and any server that speaks Model Context Protocol, an open standard that works like a universal plug between AI and software. It also runs on more than Google's own models: Gemini currently orchestrates across Gemini and Claude models from Anthropic, routing each job to the one Google considers the best fit for quality and cost. Letting software act on its own raises obvious safety questions, and Google's answer is to treat each agent like an employee. Every agent gets a cryptographically attested identity, a digital ID verified through cryptography, and every action lands in an audit trail attributed to the agent rather than a person. All agents run inside an Agent Sandbox, a walled-off environment meant to keep software away from the rest of a system, and all their traffic passes through Agent Gateway, which Google describes as an "AI network firewall." Containment has failed before: in July, researchers at Accomplish AI reported that the local mode of Claude Cowork could escape its Linux virtual machine on Macs and reach files on the host computer. Cost is the other worry, since agents burn through tokens, the chunks of text that AI models read and write and that customers are billed for. Google says nearly 500 of its customers each processed more than one trillion tokens over the past year, and it added real-time spend caps: when a project hits its limit, the agent pauses until someone clicks to resume. Google did not publish pricing or a general availability date for the Gemini agent. The financial services and lega

SlowMist Chief Information Security Officer: Public WiFi does not steal coins; fake WiFi is the real risk.

According to news from Bijie, SlowMist Chief Information Security Officer 23pds tweeted that public WiFi does not steal coins; what steals coins is a phishing page opened through fake WiFi, combined with the user's own actions of signing transactions or importing private keys. What websites are visited and what operations are performed after connecting are the core factors determining whether asset losses occur. Previously, a user connected to free WiFi at Singapore Airport, after which a small wallet that had not traded for several months had 3.7 BNB transferred out. Binance founder CZ responded that he has always advised against connecting to public WiFi, but merely connecting to WiFi should not cause a wallet to be stolen, and asked whether there were other operations in between. Crypto KOL ab kuaidong speculated that someone may have specifically set up free WiFi, and the router may have been modified. xiaoyu said he thought this was likely the case.

Nvidia stock faces a key warning signal, and the AI trade breakdown remains unconfirmed.

According to Biji World news, Nvidia shares fell 2.94% on Thursday after OpenAI told investors its annualized revenue was about $50 billion, lower than the $68 billion widely reported last month. Alex Kantrowitz, founder of Big Technology, said on CNBC that the gap is mainly an accounting issue. Nvidia closed at $230.48, about 5% below Tuesday's record high of $243.37. Both Nvidia and AMD have signed multibillion-dollar partnership agreements with OpenAI, so they benefit directly from OpenAI's growth. AMD fell 3.9% on the same day. Kantrowitz noted that although Nvidia has risen about 24% this year and has a market value of nearly $5.6 trillion, the market remains cautious about the outlook for AI trades. He believes the overall market depends on the performance of OpenAI and Anthropic, and that any small problem could repeat Thursday's selloff. Kantrowitz expects Anthropic's initial public offering to take place within a few weeks, and OpenAI's next year.

Analyst: ESMA gives EU crypto firms three months to exit non-compliant stablecoins

According to CoinWorld news, the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) requires crypto companies in the EU to clear existing exposures to stablecoins that do not comply with MiCA regulations by January 8, 2027. ESMA has given national financial regulators 90 days to oversee this process. Although these restrictions may cause trading to shift out of the European market, it does not mean that global demand for US dollar stablecoins will decrease. According to an Adan-Ipsos survey, 53% of participants said they have experience using euro stablecoins, indicating interest in euro stablecoins. ESMA's opinion also covers multiple monetary processes such as trading, custody, transfer, investment advice, and overall portfolio management. National regulators must ensure that companies holding MiCA certificates stop offering any form of non-compliant stablecoins and restrict clients from increasing their holdings of these stablecoins.

Australia is about to unveil the final version of a controversial plan

CoinWorld news: Australia is about to unveil the final version of a controversial plan that would force liquefied natural gas producers to reserve up to one-fifth of their output for domestic buyers. Three people directly involved in the proposal said the government will introduce legislation next week to implement the Domestic Gas Reservation Mechanism. The discussions have not been made public, so the people requested anonymity. With Qatari gas supply disrupted by the war in the Middle East, Australia is currently the world's second-largest LNG exporter. About three-quarters of the country's gas is exported, but the more densely populated east coast will face a domestic supply shortfall by the end of this decade. The plan has drawn strong opposition from producers, who say it will deter investment and damage Australia's reputation as a reliable supplier to the global market.
