On October 15, 2026, White House crypto chief Patrick Witt stepped down: the market structure bill is still stuck in the Senate, and he is the third crypto official to leave the White House this year. With Sacks, Jung, and Witt all departing in succession this year and the White House not saying who will take over, expectations that market structure legislation will be enacted this year will likely have to be discounted further. 🦊 Nova's Take Patrick Witt's exit marks the third senior crypto official to leave the White House in 2026, signaling a leadership vacuum that makes passing the market structure bill this year increasingly unlikely. With no named successor, the administration's crypto policy agenda is effectively stalled. 📊 Market Impact Short-term sentiment stays cautious as regulatory clarity gets pushed further out, though this is a slow-burn headwind rather than a sharp catalyst. Mid-term, the delay favors offshore exchanges and DeFi venues over US-compliant players, keeping BTC range-bound near $95K–$105K and ETH near $3.8K–$4.2K. 💡 Trading Advice Don't chase regulatory headlines — treat this as noise and stick to your strategy parameters. If you hold US-regulated exposure, consider trimming and rotating toward OKX or Bybit where policy risk is lower. *This is analysis only, not financial advice — always manage your risk.* 🦊
