More →Discord is making public chats searchable on Google: How to opt out
Discord conversations on large public servers will soon reach audiences far beyond their communities, raising privacy concerns. Discord is making a policy change that will make conversations from its largest public servers discoverable in search engines, including Google, raising privacy concerns among users whose conversations were previously confined to the platform. The change applies to Discoverable Servers — communities with at least 1,000 members listed in Discord’s public directory that do not require an invitation to join. From Nov. 16, every Discoverable Server will have a web page that may include summaries of public channel discussions. From mid-December, individual messages posted in eligible channels may appear in web search, Discord> said Tuesday. Messages posted before the rollout will not be included, while usernames and avatars will be excluded from published messages. Example of an individual message being shown online. We want to fix this,” the company said. The change could also affect cryptocurrency communities that use Discord for technical discussions, support and project announcements. Cointelegraph found nearly 800 servers tagged “cryptocurrency,” around 1,400 tagged “trading” and more than 700 tagged “finance” in Discord’s public directory. Disc
ADNOC: The new Hormuz Strait bypass pipeline will be put into operation in early 2027.
Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has informed some Asian refiners that crude oil supply from some of its offshore oil fields may be transported via a newly built pipeline starting in early 2027, helping the company avoid the currently disrupted Strait of Hormuz. ADNOC plans to supply some Upper Zakum crude to long-term contract customers through the Fujairah terminal starting in early 2027. This crude is produced from oil fields in the Persian Gulf. ADNOC said in May that it was accelerating construction progress, and the pipeline will be completed next year. Under long-term supply agreements renewed annually, crude oil will be delivered at Fujairah, and buyers will be able to load crude without having to send tankers through the Strait of Hormuz.

JPMorgan: The U.S. Treasury is expected to rely increasingly on short-term borrowing.
JPMorgan analysts noted that the U.S. Treasury may increase the scale of short-term borrowing when it releases its quarterly refunding plan next week. They expect the Treasury's net borrowing from private investors to reach $2.038 trillion this year and rise to $2.202 trillion in 2027. Currently, auction sizes for Treasury bonds and medium- to long-term notes are expected to remain unchanged, with increases beginning in August 2027, and the increases may be more pronounced for maturities ranging from two to 10 years. JPMorgan believes that issuance of short-term debt will begin to grow earlier. The analysts said: "After deducting the Federal Reserve's purchases and repo operations, this means that privately held outstanding U.S. Treasury bills will increase by $401 billion in calendar year 2026 and by $991 billion in 2027... This will be the most intensive year of short-term Treasury bill issuance since 2023."
