Google Wants Gemini to Be Your Next Coworker—Complete With Its Own Email Address

Google Cloud introduced a universal AI agent for the workplace on Thursday, one it says can take a goal, go off and do the work, and return with the finished result. CEO Thomas Kurian presented it at the company's Gemini at Work event, saying that "work now starts in the prompt window." The product, simply called the Gemini Agent, works inside Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive, Chat and Calendar, and also reaches into Microsoft 365 and Slack. Google says it keeps running in the cloud after you close your laptop, so a single task can stretch across hours or days. The most interesting feature is what Google calls coworker agents. A manager describes a role, such as events coordinator, and Gemini creates an agent with its own Workspace account: an email address, a calendar, Drive storage and a listing in the company directory. This is similar to what other agentic frameworks have explored. For example Grok popularized it with Grok Bot, OpenAI did the same with GPT dots, and Hermes introduced its bots feature offering the same functionality. The new agent connects to Salesforce, ServiceNow, Jira, Snowflake, BigQuery and any server that speaks Model Context Protocol, an open standard that works like a universal plug between AI and software. It also runs on more than Google's own models: Gemini currently orchestrates across Gemini and Claude models from Anthropic, routing each job to the one Google considers the best fit for quality and cost. Letting software act on its own raises obvious safety questions, and Google's answer is to treat each agent like an employee. Every agent gets a cryptographically attested identity, a digital ID verified through cryptography, and every action lands in an audit trail attributed to the agent rather than a person. All agents run inside an Agent Sandbox, a walled-off environment meant to keep software away from the rest of a system, and all their traffic passes through Agent Gateway, which Google describes as an "AI network firewall." Containment has failed before: in July, researchers at Accomplish AI reported that the local mode of Claude Cowork could escape its Linux virtual machine on Macs and reach files on the host computer. Cost is the other worry, since agents burn through tokens, the chunks of text that AI models read and write and that customers are billed for. Google says nearly 500 of its customers each processed more than one trillion tokens over the past year, and it added real-time spend caps: when a project hits its limit, the agent pauses until someone clicks to resume. Google did not publish pricing or a general availability date for the Gemini agent. The financial services and lega

BTC liquidation pressure: watch $76,200 to the downside and $87,800 to the upside.

According to CoinWorld data: BTC is currently priced at approximately $82,600. If the price drops by about 7.75% to around $76,200, some high-leverage long positions may face concentrated liquidations; if the price rises by about 6.25% to around $87,800, some high-leverage short positions may face concentrated liquidations. The upper liquidation zone is currently closer to the current price, meaning that if the price moves upward, short liquidation pressure may emerge earlier. Other notable zones: $67,700 and $67,500 below; $88,000 and $93,100 above. These levels are estimated based on public market prices and changes in open interest, and do not mean the price will necessarily reach them, nor are they predictions of price movement. Less than a month after Apple's new-generation iPhone hit the market, reports of production cuts have already emerged.

According to news from Bijie, less than a month after Apple's new-generation iPhone went on sale, rumors of production cuts have already emerged in the market. On October 9, some media reports said that due to soaring memory chip costs, Apple was forced to raise the prices of its new iPhones, which in turn led to a decline in consumer demand. At present, Apple has told some suppliers to cut component production for the newly launched iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. However, regarding the above rumors of production cuts, a reporter learned from supply chain sources that day that the total volume of related orders has not yet undergone any substantive change. "Judging from the sales situation on Apple's official website, the estimated arrival time for most specifications and models of the iPhone 18 Pro Max is still 3 to 4 weeks." Nomura released a research report stating that Samsung Electronics' third-quarter operating profit reached 107.4 trillion won.

According to a report from Bijie, Lyon issued a research report stating that Samsung Electronics' third-quarter operating profit reached 107.4 trillion won, up 20% quarter-on-quarter, the highest ever, but in line with market expectations. The market remains focused on whether memory profits can be sustained, but industry suppliers unanimously expect supply and demand to tighten in 2027 to 2028. AI agents are driving a fundamental shift in memory demand, and combined with Samsung's diversified customer base and product portfolio, as well as its technological leadership, excess profits are expected to continue. The bank estimates that Samsung's third-quarter semiconductor operating profit was about 108 trillion won, up 21% quarter-on-quarter, mainly driven by a roughly 15% quarter-on-quarter increase in average selling prices for DRAM and NAND. It expects fourth-quarter operating profit to rise 7% quarter-on-quarter to 115 trillion won. The bank raised its 2027 and 2028 operating profit forecasts by 10% each, and expects operating profit in 2027 to reach 572 trillion won, up 55% year-on-year, driven by increases of 37% and 30% in average selling prices for DRAM and NAND, respectively.

Recently, the Ministry of Finance arranged the use of 550 billion yuan from the remaining local government debt quota.

According to news from Bijie, recently, the Ministry of Finance arranged the use of 550 billion yuan from the local government debt carryover quota to improve the general public budget guarantee capacity of counties and districts and support local efforts to expand effective investment. Of the 550 billion yuan in local government debt carryover quota issued to local governments, 300 billion yuan is the general debt carryover quota, all allocated to counties and districts for use, specifically to improve the general public budget guarantee capacity of counties and districts; the 250 billion yuan special debt carryover quota is allocated to regions with actual project funding needs in the fourth quarter of this year, with a tilt toward major economically developed provinces, to support the priority guarantee of funding needs for projects under construction, while new projects focus on key areas such as the construction of the "six networks," so as to effectively leverage the driving role of government investment. The Ministry of Finance will guide and urge all localities to better align project reserves with bond issuance, accelerate the pace of issuance, smooth the allocation chain, form physical work volume as soon as possible, and promote the early implementation and early effectiveness of policies.
