The Federal Reserve kept interest rates unchanged, and the market reaction was mixed.

News from Bijie: According to Newsquawk, the Federal Reserve kept interest rates unchanged as expected, despite hawkish dissents from Hammack and Cook. Fed Chair Warsh's press conference brought no hawkish surprise, putting pressure on the dollar and short-term yields. Asia-Pacific stock markets showed mixed performance, with South Korea's KOSPI index underperforming due to Samsung Electronics' earnings falling short of expectations. U.S. stock index futures traded mixed, with the Nasdaq lagging as Google parent Alphabet's poor earnings weighed, while Microsoft rose in after-hours trading. European stock index futures pointed to a flat open, with Eurozone Stoxx 50 futures up 0.1%. Crude oil futures fell on hopes for mediation, with reports of frequent communication between Iran and the United States through mediators. Economic data to watch going forward include Sweden's GDP, EU economic sentiment, U.S. GDP, and personal consumption expenditures.

Singapore police report users lost S$3.5 million after purchasing tampered Ledger wallets.

Singapore police report that cryptocurrency users have lost approximately S$3.5 million (about US$2.6 million) after purchasing tampered Ledger hardware wallets. Since September 10, police have received at least two cases involving tampered Ledger devices. Investigations found that the affected devices were physically modified to steal users' mnemonic phrases or private keys, resulting in unauthorized access to their cryptocurrency assets. Ledger has been contacted by police and is reviewing the cases. The losses follow Ledger's investigation into compromised devices distributed through Cryptobilis. On October 13, Ledger confirmed that hidden hardware implants were found in theft incidents reported by users, capable of capturing mnemonic phrases and transmitting information via LTE connectivity. Ledger stated that the malicious component operates separately from the device's secure element and does not affect the protection of private keys.
