Polymarket user account assets were transferred out without authorization, resulting in losses of hundreds of thousands of dollars.
According to Wu Shuo, multiple Polymarket users have reported in the community that their account assets were transferred out without authorization, with some users losing hundreds of thousands of dollars. Some users suspect that the website's front end has a security vulnerability or has been implanted with malicious code, and said that after closing all browser tabs logged into Polymarket, the abnormal transfers stopped, but the specific cause has not yet been confirmed. Polymarket officially stated that the exchange has now entered cancel-only mode, while suspending relayer operations, and is investigating the incident. Previously, Polymarket reported that one of its third-party vendors had been compromised, causing malicious code to be implanted in the website's front end and resulting in the theft of approximately $3 million in user assets, but said the relevant vulnerability had been fixed and that affected users would be fully compensated.
