Analysis: Anthropic's IPO could ignite a rally in AI stocks

According to Biji.com, analysts suggest that Anthropic's IPO could ignite a rebound in AI stocks, with short bets on tech stocks surging. Wall Street's recent risk-averse sentiment toward equities may create conditions for a strong market rebound. If Anthropic's IPO rekindles investor enthusiasm for artificial intelligence, tech stocks in particular could be poised for a rally. Data from Deutsche Bank shows that investors have reduced equity exposure to levels consistent with historical norms, with active investors' exposure to U.S. stocks falling to the lowest level in more than a month, and funds employing computer-driven trading strategies also cutting their positions. Once market confidence recovers, there is still room for a new round of buying. Hedge funds have acted more aggressively, increasingly betting on falling stock prices. Goldman Sachs Group said that this month, for every $1 of stock its hedge fund clients bought, they shorted about $5 of stock. The firm's records show that the scale of hedge funds borrowing funds to bet on falling prices is near the highest level in five years. If the stock market subsequently strengthens, these short bets could become a booster for gains, forcing investors betting on declines to buy stocks to close out their positions.

Amp gives AI agents a cloud Mac: 30-second startup, compile and test iOS apps on their own.

Amp has launched macOS satellites, allowing AI Agents to automatically compile, run, and test iOS and macOS applications on cloud-based Macs. The cloud Macs come preinstalled with Xcode and simulators, and the company says they can start up in about 30 seconds. When an Agent modifies code on Linux, it only calls on the Mac when compilation and testing are needed; test screens, logs, and screen recordings are sent back to Amp, and users can also take over the Mac desktop directly. The cloud Macs are offered in two configurations: 6-core CPU with 14GB of memory for $2 per hour, and 12-core with 28GB for $4 per hour. After a task ends, the Mac is retained for another 20 minutes so the compilation cache can continue to be used, and billing continues based on runtime during that period, after which it is automatically destroyed. The feature is currently in beta and requires joining a waitlist.
